SATURDAY TRAINING RIDES

Training rides take place on Saturday mornings, meeting at 9:00am in winter and at 8:00am once the clocks go forward.

These rides are a faster paced ride and for the more experienced rider. Mileage is around 50/60 miles and more when the weather allows. Same rules apply for winter training rides as we prefer riders to have mudguards and flaps during winter.

These rides often visit a cafe for coffee and cake and aim to be back in Sheffield around 1:00pm.

SUNDAY CLUB RUNS

Club runs take place Sunday mornings, meeting at 9:00am and departing from Malin Bridge shortly after.

The meeting place is on Loxley Road, Malin Bridge, Sheffield 6. This is easily located by following the one way system at the end of Holme Lane and heading towards Bradfield, once past Loxley Bar and Grill, we meet on the left hand side at the bus stop sign posted Loxley Road/Dykes Lane. We visit most areas of the Peak District, West Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and we also visit Staffordshire.

If you come along on a Sunday club run, we will be on the road for about 4 hours covering about 50-60 miles with a cafe stop. The pace on the Club run is to the slowest rider and we always look after new members and encourage them to progress. Unlike other clubs we welcome new members to ride with us so don’t worry that you might be left because that’s not how we welcome new riders. We by all means accommodate newbies but we do expect a certain level of fitness. The natural terrain of the Peak District means that 50 miles in the hills can feel more like 75 on the flat. If you do find that you are struggling with the pace, we advise that you do the first hour and see how you feel. Some newcomers do the first hour and then turn back. Better to ride home feeling fine than on your last legs feeling shattered. We also advise that you wear a helmet, carry a basic tool kit and bring at least one spare tube and a pump just in case you puncture. In the Winter months we prefer riders to have full length mudguards and preferably a mudguard flap – it helps to keep our nice white kit clean!!

Please see the map below for further details of where to meet.
